Intensive Workshop on December 13th  - 14th,  2018
 

The workshop begins by covering the rationale for giving feedback (both positive and constructive) before going on to consider the ‘golden rules’, or fundamental principles of good feedback. We next look at feedback methods that motivate employees to improve their performance. By the end of the course participants will have greatly increased their self-confidence when giving feedback or coaching and will understand how to tailor their remarks in light of their people’s feedback preferences.

 

This workshop provides managers and senior staff who have attended workshop with coaching and feedback skills needed to reinforce Consulting Partnering skills and drive behavior change among their staff members. It gives managers a common understanding, framework, and a set of tools for developing Consultative Partnering skills among their employees. Participants learn a practical, proven process for coaching and providing effective feedback.

 

In addition, the workshop helps participants explore how to work effectively with a variety of individuals with different strengths and motivational factors.

 

Feedback and coaching accomplish different goals. Feedback can be used during coaching but does not require coaching. Coaching consists of a dedicated person supporting another through a transition, professional development or performance goal. Coaching is a powerful tool. Simple feedback is not as supportive and intensive as coaching, which includes the ability to explain various perspectives of a given situation.

 

If a manager also wants a particular employee to develop advanced skills sets and understand the big picture of the workplace, she may assign him a coach or ask him to choose a coach based on expertise. The coach collaborates with the employee and forms an ongoing relationship. Feedback, on the other hand, is provided once, without further enrichment or development. Coaching helps employees feel motivated and valued by the organization, and even virtual employees can be coached
